The rule every picture here has to pass
Three parts, and all three hold before a picture goes up:
- A free licence that permits commercial use. Wikimedia Commons is where these come from.
- The photographer credited by name wherever that licence asks for it, with a link back to the file page and to the licence itself.
- A caption that names the place and says something true about it. Captions here are not decoration, and a photograph carrying no information does not earn its space on the page.
Where a town has no honest photograph of it, that town's page carries no photograph. A stone farmhouse that is not in Chester County, captioned as though it were, would tell you less than the number sitting next to it in a table.
What was changed, and what was not
17 of these have been enlarged and sharpened so they hold their detail at the size they run here. That is the whole of it. Nothing has been added to any picture and nothing removed: not a house, not a car, not a person, not a sky, not a shadow. The licences ask that changes be noted, so the last column of the table notes them.
Corrections and takedowns
A photographer who wants a credit fixed, or an image taken down, can ring the line and say so, and it gets dealt with.
